It is now Tuesday! The Bethel Youth Group (my home church) leaves for HistoryMaker Youth Convention on FRIDAY!!!
It's my 3rd time going, and i'm excited beyond words.
Contrary to what some may think, i am not excited because i get to spend 3 days and nights away from home, away from school, and away from the extended rules and regulations of my parents. my excitement comes from know that i'm going to spend 3 days and nights with thousands of youth and young adults in the presence of JESUS!!!!
Those of you who have gone to similar conventions can agree that this experience is totally unique and undescribeable.
now if that wasn't excitement enough, Delirious? is going to lead worship!!!
my thoughts are all over the place, and each moment i think about how much closer it is, i get more and more excited. (insert shrill sqweek of excitement).
what can be better than spending 3 straight days with youth and young adults from your own church, getting to know each of them on a personal level that you just couldn't achieve at home, praising and worshiping God to such an extent that you actually get a glimpse of heaven, and praying so whole-heartedly that you get answers in that very moment??!!!! (note the exclaimation marks).
3 full days where mom and dad aren't bugging you about your friends, your grades, and your laziness, 3 days where school is the last thing on your minds, 3 days where friends are friends and not your worst nightmares, 3 days where you don't care what the boy next to you thinks about your outfit- because for 3 days it's just you, your Bible, and Jesus.
For those who haven't experienced a convention or gathering like this.... get involved, get going, it's amazing, and once again totally exciting!!!
