The Circle of Life
A little girl in her kindergarten class, plays "House" with her friends, she's the mommy, there's a baby, older sister, and because none of the boys wanted to play, daddy's away on a business trip. She, "mommy", is in the kitchen, some sort of Fischer-Price contraption that has a plastic stove, oven and sink, she's making dinner, with baby at her side saying "mommy i'm hungry" "mommy, i don't want to sleep" "mommy sister's home". sister comes in and throws her bag on the floor and goes to her "room", either a corner of the classroom or a cot already in the classroom (usually used for naptime). Mommy calls sister and baby for dinner and they eat while Mommy asks how Sister's day was, she says "Fine", and asks "When's daddy getting home". They finish dinner, and Mommy calls Daddy, he's coming home tomorrow.
This little girl grows up, learns to read, write, multiply and divide fractions, and decides she doesn't want to be just a mommy when she grows up, she wants to have a corporate position in a big name company, be married to the most handsome and wonderful man in the world, have one kid, maybe another one later, and she needs to have a nanny.
she goes to university and pursues her corporate interests, she graduates and begins working for that large corporation with the popular name. she and her husband have a baby and she becomes a mommy, and he becomes a daddy. because of studies she's read in psychology about children with nannies being disassociated from their parents, she takes a "temporary" break from work to take care of her child. Soon after she has another child and the "temporary" break gets extended.
As she's cooking in her stainless steel kitchen, with her baby by her side saying "mommy i'm hungry" "mommy, i don't want to go to sleep", and her husband away on a business trip, she sees her older daughter playing "House" with her best friend, and remembers...
