SomeThings Superficial, others...not so much
1. jimmy choo brown alligator leather stilettos, mmmm..... please
2. i can't wait till i'm old enough to wear Anne Klein
3. black power suit with red stilettos, brown leather briefcase. you tell me who has the power
4. it's friday, and i know it's friday, it feels like a friday. i'm looking forward to the whole weekend, i was even looking forward to tonight. i was in the mood to "do something" not sure what- something along the lines of go out to dinner, and watch a play- didn't though, they're all just desires. for now i'm content with laying in bed finishing my book.
5. we've been living in this house in vancouver for just about 10 years, the house doesn't feel like home, but everything around it does: the elementary school across the street, my friends living walking distance away, my elementary school a 5 minute walk away, the church a 2 minute walk away, the corner where the corner store used to be- where i'd go buy candy after school and freezes in the summer, highschool a 5 minute drive away, downtown a 10 minute drive away, the airport- that gives our location that special city feel- 2 minutes away, the back alley where i learned to ride my bike (uphill!) and played soccer with the neighbours' kids- "Hi Jeannie's mom, can Jeannie come out and play today??". now as i write this and think about all the memories i have living here i realize how much things have changed. when we first moved here it was the typical street with kids playing on the road and moving their hockey nets so cars could get by, while others circled the block for the hundreth time on their bikes, and a group of boys played basketball over at the school while a group of girls looked on. there was once a church next door, where you could hear hymns being sung to the mellowing sound of the organ at 9am on sunday mornings. on bright sunny days clusters of neighbours would stand at the corner and talk to each other about their day at work, the weather, and any other topic that could be labelled as "polite conversation", and when one neighbour stepped out to mow the lawn or tidy the rose bushes everyone else would too, just to give each other company. and when you drove in from school or work there was at least one friendly face to say hi. even when it rained there was still a feeling of safety and pleasantry. but now, it's all dwindled down to a few kids, secluded new neighbours, and unmanaged lawns. i want to live childhood again, it was so wonderful and simple back then.
